Rose Wallhanging

Dimensions: 17″ x 17″Rose Wallhanging
Completed: June 2002

Hand Reverse Applique
Machine Quilted

This wall hanging was made for my school friend Belinda’s wedding to long time partner David.  It was designed by Marcia at Quilter’s Cache (there’s my photo linked from the last page of the pattern), and is reverse appliquéd.  I had trouble, as the foreground I wanted (and thus did) use was a very loose weave – not happy at $28 a metre!!  I had to use a lot of fray stop to try and control the threads, and modified the pattern slightly so that it was  little easier.

bindlabelThe date of their wedding, June 8 2002, is quilted into the background in the bottom right.  Shame you can’t see it!
